Illinois Pocket Watches
It was in 1871 that the ILLINOIS started the production of watch parts. This continued and one year later in 1872, the company was able to produce complete watches. Before this the company relied on importing their balances but now it was their own production. The story of the success continued and around four years later in 1876 the company began to manufacture ladies movements.
Every watch collectors knows about the railroad watches and Illinois is the one company who had a landmark success in the production of railroad watches.
Many railroads watches, inspected by the specialist inspectors, have outstanding testimonials to their credit. The quality with Illinois is undisputed priority and it is a historical recorded that during a competitive examination with products from other factories, it was found that among those accepted, 10 out of 11 were Illinois manufactured.
